In the land of Fiore, where magic is common and guilds are found in many places, there are many dark secrets that have yet to be unveiled. Dark Guilds are becoming more destructive and are slowly beginning to join forces. The Mage Council is growing worried for the safety of the people and what's worse, there is rumor that the Dark Guilds are being manipulated by a higher force, not yet seen in Fiore.
Not only that but a man named Jeral has begun to make his move. With the R-System, he plans to revive Dark Mage Zeref and bring an era of darkness upon the magical world. His cunning plans and powerful subordinates make him a deadly foe and his tower is slowly nearing completion.
