In pursuit

It was quiet and peaceful out right now, Ito was racing through the woods at a good pace. He was on a mission that had been assigned to him; hunting down a ninja that had stolen something from one of the ninja on the council. It was silent all around him, but in only a few moments it would change. Ito burst out, suddenly, onto the banks of a river with a great waterfall at it's head. Looking around he could see him, a stout man with a large blade strapped to his back. His faced was covered completely, including the eyes, to hide his identity, but that was not effective. Ito knew what the man had been wearing, he'd been briefed on that.

Almost as soon as Ito set foot on the bank the ninja froze, then turned to look at him, though his eyes were covered. "So you've caught up. I suppose you were sent to get me? Well, I wish you the best of luck", he said, then laughed. Suddenly a blade swung from behind Ito, tearing into his arm. It sent him flying, slamming him into a bunch of trees. Blood dripped from his arm, falling down to his hand. The ninja had used a clone to distract him, he'd really been behind him. Both of the ninja had started laughing loudly, but one stopped. Behind him stood a tall figure, kunai to his back.

Ito disappeared him a puff of smoke after smirking to the ninja. "Kentan Coon, I am afraid that I must take you back to the village. Will you comply, or shall I use force?", Ito asked him coolly. Kentan said nothing, there was almost no chance of him doing anything, there was a kunai to his back, no ninja would be that foolish. However, Kentan seemed to defy normal logic. As quickly as he could, he swung his sword around and tried to cut Ito down like a large tree. Ito jumped back, narrowly avoiding the blade.

Ito sighed as he came to a stop, Kentan wanted a fight, he had given him an option and now had no choice but to destroy him. When Ito looked up, both Kentan and the clone, of which Ito couldn't differentiate between, were charging at him. Even if the clone couldn't physically attack him, Kentan could. "Fuuton: Kaze no Senbon", Ito said, bringing his hands to his mouth. He began to shoot a large number of needles at both enemies from his mouth, making them both pause in pain.

Ito paused after the two stopped charging him. He was waiting for one of them to vanish into a puff of smoke; one was a clone and he had to know which it was. As Ito watched, both of the ninja faded into a puff of smoke, leaving no trace. 'Clones', Ito said to himself. He scanned the area quickly and barely caught a touch of movement to his right. Ito reacted quickly, turned his entire body and yelled,"Fuuton: Hajinkaru no Jutsu!" Suddenly, a large ball of air flew forward from him and slammed right into the object. Something metallic could be heard hitting the ground.

Ito looked around, there was nothing around him, no weapons, no enemy, nothing. Suddenly there was a sound to his right and something slammed into him, knocking him to the left, into the water of the river. When Ito looked over to see what had happened, he saw that he had been hit by Kentan, with the side of his blade. He was just toying around. Ito stood, listening to Kentan's horrid laugh.

Ito began to form several seals, he was preparing what could easily be his strongest technique. At the same time, Kentan began to charge in. Ito began to see everything in slow motion, the river flowed slowly, the leaves in the trees swayed in slow motion and Kentan seemed to run at the pace of a walk. He raised his sword over his head to catch Ito when he got close enough, but that didn't happen. As soon as Kentan came within ten feet,"Fuuton: Ranboukazenenten", Ito yelled at the top of his lungs. Everything moved back at it's normal speed.

In mere seconds the area around him was engulfed in a whorl. The air picked up the water and swirled with it like a tornado. Kentan was right in the range, taken by the attack. Nothing seemed to happen for the next five seconds, while the water surged around him. After the water dropped, because the gusting air stopped, Kentan could be seen standing there, cut up and bleeding profusely. However, Kentan was still standing, still able to fight. He was soaked from head to toe, the cloth around his face had been cut off by the chakra blades in the torrent and it was now clearly visible.

Kentan was breathing a bit heavily and was obviously hurting from the wounds that were now on his arms and torso. "So you aren't just some chump ninja... Alright, let's see just what you can do", he said, the hoisted his sword up to his shoulder. He formed a seal and chakra was released from his body. The water around him was pushed aside from the chakra that was released his body began to grow more bulky. Ito slowly exhaled, moving his feet farther apart, "Kaze Kamkiri Yousa", he said. He reopened his eyes and continued to breath in slowly. Kentan began to charge, vanishing from his increased speed.

He reappeared on Ito's left, trying to cut him through with his sword, but Ito slid around and used his momentum to send him flying forward and landing face forward in the water. Kentan stood quick, furious. He believed that Ito was simply trying to make a fool out of him. He vanished again, appearing above Ito and slicing down. Ito quickly disarmed his opponent and tossed the blade behind him in the watter. Then he struck Kentan all around his torso with many quick powerful strikes, all before he could react. When Kentan finally get get a chance to react, Ito slid his foot around and knocked Kentan's feet out from under him, causing him to fall backwards. Kentan flipped back and thought for a moment. Ito did not pursue him away from his spot.

Kentan pulled out several kunai and launched them at Ito. "Fuuton: Kaikou Jinpu no Jutsu", Ito said to himself. The trees began to rattle and shake as a strong breeze came in, stopping the kunai in the flight, causing them to fall harmlessly to the floor. Kentan became angry now, all his attacks had failed and Taijutsu was out of the question while he was in the stance. Kentan hadn't faced a foe like this before, all he knew was that he had to get his sword back. When he looked away to find his sword in the water, Ito used the chance to launch one final attack. "Fuuton: Ashinaki no jutsu", he said. He expelled a cone shaped blast of air from his mouth that was flying forward, but was rotating itself. The blast hit Kentan square in the chest.

Kentan flew back, landing on the ground. He was looking away from Ito because the blast had sent him twisting backwards. He laughed loudly, the Fuuton: Ashinaki was a simple Genin technique, it had done no damage to him. When he turned around he noticed a rather large ball of air flying at him slowly. "Kentan Coon. You should have come along", Ito said before the man could move,"Fuuton: Kabiyashi no Jutsu!", he yelled and the air burst sending blades of wind chakra all around, cutting through the nearby trees, leveling a few of them. Kentan stood only for a moment after the blast, then dropped to his knees, then fell on his face. Ito walked up to him and sighed.

There was blood everywhere and the ninja was dead. Ito, with great disgust, lifted the dead man onto his shoulder and took off back toward the village, but only after retrieving the sword from the water, which took the better part of an hour. It wouldn't take him long to arrive back at Konoha, but the dead man would slow him down.

Ito jumped back down to the area at which he had fought Kentan, there was still blood all over the banks and many trees were knocked over. He looked around and saw an encampment not far south on the site and headed towards it. He entered the area and saw a man sitting at the fire. "You there. Your name, is it Naren?", he asked. The man turned to look at him and nodded. "Naren, I must ask you to come with me. You will return with me to the village or...", he said, but he was cut-off. "I'll go with you. I do not wish to have the same fate that the other had", he said. He stood and put out the fire, the walked over to Ito. Ito was a bit surprised by the events, but tied Naren up with rope, except for his feet, then began to take him back to the village. Ito followed the same path as he had before.
